Message from the Secretary
The Montgomery County Retirement Board, comprised of the County Commissioners, Controller and Treasurer, will not be granting a cost-of-living increase to former Montgomery County employees for 2010.
An increase is determined by the annual Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U). Because there was no change in the CPI through 2009, there is no change (increase) for retirees effective in 2010. This is similar to what has happened with Social Security payments this year.
Sincerely, Diane B. Morgan Controller
IMPORTANT REMINDER: The Montgomery County Employees' Retirement System will not be mailing monthly notices of direct deposit. Instead, in January of each year retirees will receive one statement, which will include any applicable cost-of-living increases for the year. They are advised to please keep this statement for their records.
