Welcome

  Diane R. Morgan

Thank you for taking time to visit the website of the Montgomery County Controller, the financial watchdog for one of the largest counties in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. My name is Diane Morgan and I am the County Controller.

The information that you find on our site will tell you a lot about what we do here in the Controller’s Office. What it may not truly convey, however, is who we are. The Controller’s Office is comprised of a talented and dedicated group of financial professionals and support staff who work hard everyday to make sure that Montgomery County taxpayer dollars are spent properly and efficiently.

In many ways, the work that a Controller does is at the heart of the relationship between the "public servant" and the public. If the citizens of the county, or any level of government, believe that their hard-earned tax dollars are being mismanaged, wasted, or being lost to fraud or “insider deals,” then no amount of policy successes can restore the faith in that government.

Stripping away all of the technical duties that you will find highlighted on this website, the Controller’s Office is mainly the guardian of the public trust and our job is to help preserve the basic faith in our county government.

I hope that you will see, as I have come to see since my election in 2007, that the Montgomery County Controller’s Office takes this duty seriously and that we work hard to make sure that your tax dollars are spent wisely for the benefit of our county residents and future generations of Montgomery County residents.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

                                                     Diane B. Morgan,

                                                           Controller
